Verification of air quality within a controlled environment

In order to comply with regulatory requirements or within the scope of an accreditation or certification protocol, it is necessary to control the level of contamination present on premises along with specifying the equipment and installation level of performance. To enhance competitiveness, providing our services on-site helps minimize the idle time of all equipment and installations involved.

Services proposed

The set of services proposed pertain to controlling air quality on premises in accordance with relevant standards or other benchmarks currently in effect (BPF, "client" specifications issued by the company or requesting entity, etc.): controlled atmosphere zones (CAZ) from Class 1 (operating room) to Class 9 (factory workshop). Besides controlling air quality, the Laboratory's proposed control services include environmental settings (temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure).

Resources available

Control equipment deployed by LNE:

Setting Analyzers Measurement range
Air temperature Multifunction platform associated with a temperature probe -200°C to 1,000°C
Air humidity rate Multifunction platform associated with a hygrometric probe 3% to 98%
Particulate cleanliness Optical particle counter 0.3 µm to 10.0 µm
Airborne bacteriological cleanliness Ambient bio-impactor 28.3 L/min
Decontamination kinetics Optical particle counter 0.3 µm to 10.0 µm
Air renewal rate Calculation derived from the decontamination kinetics determination Calculation derived from the decontamination kinetics determination

The acoustic pressure level may be measured, for information purposes, at rest and devoid of human presence, over an 8-hour period.

Airborne bacteriological cleanliness control uses TSA media for aerobic mesophilic flora and Sabouraud media for fungi flora.

The bacteriological cleanliness of surfaces may be verified, for information purposes, by use of TSA and Sabouraud media.

Blowing and extraction ventilation is measured by the multifunction platform tied to a hot wire velocity probe and integrated temperature sensor (measurement range: 0.00 m/s to 30.0 m/s). Differential pressure is measured using this same platform but in association here with a pressure sensor (measurement range: 0 mm to 1,000 mm H2O).
