The LNE's 120-year history is rooted in the Metre Convention signed in 1875. Over the years, the LNE has gone from being a testing laboratory to a leader in French metrology, and has grown into a group with international presence. The Group has become a key player in the field of measurement, serving all economic players involved in innovation, quality and safety, and is dynamically developing its areas of expertise and locations around the world.

Creation of the CNAM testing laboratory

The LNE designated as one of France's primary metrology laboratories (reference materials)

EPIC status, attached to the Ministry of Industry
1980
The LNE becomes one of France's leading accredited certification bodies
2001 - the beginning of the group's history

Creation of LNE Asia
2005
The LNE takes the lead in French metrology and creates its GMED North America subsidiary
2010
Creation of Certisolis
2018
GMED becomes a subsidiary of the LNE
2020
LNE Group and Laboratoires Pourquery create the LNE-LP-Asia joint venture in Hong Kong
