Workshop EMUE
LNE will host a workshop in Paris from the 21st to the 22nd of January 2020. The workshop is to present concrete examples to show how the evaluation principles of measurement uncertainty can support and add value to normative and related practices.
Measurement uncertainty evaluation methods such as the Monte Carlo method, Bayesian methods and variance propagation will be illustrated on a wide range of applications. Advantages and limitations of each method will be discussed.

he workshop intends to cover numerous disciplines such as energy, environment and healthcare. Presentations may be of interest to standards committees, accreditation bodies, regulators, calibration and testing laboratories and measurement practitioners.
The workshop aims to promote a harmonized evaluation of measurement uncertainty in accordance with internationally recognized standards and guides across broad disciplines of measurement, such as the Guide to the Expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM) and its supplements. The purpose is also to disseminate good practices in terms of assessing uncertainties and to question how to implement them in practice.
This workshop is supported by Euramet through EMUE project (Examples of Measurement Uncertainty Evaluation), which is a European JRP (Joint Research Project). The project’s goal is to provide the Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM) and other standardization bodies with new or improved adaptable examples and models for the assessment of measurement uncertainty as publishers of the internationally acknowledged GUM.
