CHARPY V certified reference test pieces (CRM) are available for 5 energy levels and 2 strikers (2 mm and 8 mm). Supplied in sets of 5 test pieces with a COFRAC reference material certificate.
Detailed description
To ensure the validity of the results of pendulum impact tests (Charpy tests), the pendulum impact test machines shall be verified in according with the standard ISO 148-2. The easiest method is to break certified reference test pieces. LNE provides certified reference materials in the form of Charpy test pieces.
Charpy test pieces available for sale
Manufacturers need certified reference materials (CRMs) to verify their machines. LNE has therefore developed test pieces that meet the requirements of the standard ISO 148-3 (Preparation and characterisation of Charpy V-notch test pieces for indirect verification of pendulum impact machines).
Produced in batches and characterised by sampling, the test pieces supplied cover a range from 20 joules to 220 joules and are available in 5 energy levels corresponding to the standard's criteria. They are available for 2 types of striker : 2 mm and 8 mm.

Test pieces are supplied in sets of 5 accompanied by a COFRAC reference material certificate (available in French and English). They are certified for both types of striker (2 mm and 8 mm) for use in accordance with standard ISO 148.
Certified reference materials
The production of these certified reference materials is covered by two accreditations:
- COFRAC accreditation - Reference materials in accordance with the requirements of standard ISO 17034 (general requirements for the competence of producers of reference materials) for The production of batches of test pieces
- COFRAC accreditation - Calibration in accordance with the requirements of standard ISO 17025 (general requirements for the competence of calibration and testing laboratories) for the characterisation of batches of test pieces.

Storage and period of validity
In its original packaging, 5 years from the date of characterisation of the batch of test pieces.
