Detailed description
Use and characteristics of reference density liquids
To meet the needs of industries for the internal calibration of their electronic densimeters, LNE offers a range of 6 reference density liquids between 700 g/dm3 and 1 820 g/dm3. The list of products offered and their approximate density value at 20°C is as follows:
- N-HEPTANE : 700 kg.m-3
- N-TETRADECANE : 760 kg.m-3
- CUMENE : 860 kg.m-3
- WATER : 1 000 kg.m-3
- DIMETHYL PHATALATE : 1 190 kg.m-3
- DIBROMOBUTANE : 1 820 kg.m-3
The density of the liquids is determined by the pycnometric method with an uncertainty of the order of ± 5.10-5.
Packaging and storage
The liquids are delivered in 250 mL glass bottles with:
- their safety data sheet
- a COFRAC calibration certificate calibration n°2-36
