Filters for dosing metals in PM 2.5 particles
Certified Reference Materials for the analysis of metals (Arsenic, Cadmium, Nickel, Lead, Manganese, Copper, Cobalt) in PM2.5-type airborne particles, as part of air quality monitoring. Available in low concentration (Ni: 595 ng, As: 126 ng, Cd: 127 ng, Pb: 3,776 ng) or high concentration (Ni: 728 ng, As: 169 ng, Cd: 178 ng, Pb: 5,461 ng).
Detailed description
This material is primarily intended for evaluating the performance of analytical methods for metallic elements (Arsenic, Cadmium, Nickel, Lead, Manganese, Copper, Cobalt) in PM2.5-type particles, to enhance the quality of air quality monitoring measurements.
It is produced using industrially sourced incineration ash particles deposited on a 47 mm quartz tissue membrane filter (QAT-UP).
It is certified for regulated elements (Arsenic, Cadmium, Nickel, and Lead) according to European Directive 2024/2881, as well as for additional elements (Manganese, Copper, Cobalt) recommended for monitoring in the ANSES opinion ref. "2015_SA_0216".
Available in:
- Low concentration: Ni: 595 ng, As: 126 ng, Cd: 127 ng, Pb: 3,776 ng
- High concentration: Ni: 728 ng, As: 169 ng, Cd: 178 ng, Pb: 5,461 ng
Indicative values for major elements such as calcium, chlorine, iron, titanium, and barium are also provided in the certificate.
Packaging and Storage
Supplied in packs of 3 filters, each accompanied by a certificate.
Accreditations and Recognition
The material has been characterised using microwave digestion and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), with both magnetic sector and quadrupole detectors.
Several quantification methods were used:
- Calibration with internal standard for all elements
- Standard addition method (Mn, Co, As)
- Isotope dilution (Ni, Cu, Cd, Pb)
These methods are accredited by COFRAC under ISO 17025 (Calibration accreditation No.2-54).
Why Choose LNE's CRMs?
These Certified Reference Materials are fully traceable to the International System of Units (SI), based on primary measurement methods recognised through Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMCs) published in the BIPM (International Bureau of
Weights and Measures) database.
This guarantees the equivalence of LNE’s capabilities with those of other national metrology institutes worldwide.
The production of this material complies with ISO 17034.
