Manufacturers of equipment intended for use outside buildings must guarantee compliance with the requirements of the Outdoor Noise Directive 2000/14/EC on noise emissions in the environment. The equipment listed in Article 13 is subject to noise level marking.
The equipment listed in article 12 is subject to noise emission limits and may not be placed on the European market without certification issued by a notified body.
As a Notified Body (n°0071) for the application of Directive 2000/14/EC, LNE assesses the conformity of the equipment listed in these regulations, applying the assessment procedure defined in Annex VI.
Prior to marking, and depending on the manufacturer's requirements, LNE carries out COFRAC* accredited sound emission measurements to ISO 3744 to guarantee the sound power level of equipment, or to validate the sound power level declared by the manufacturer.
