LNE Laboratory is equipped with many test benches for measuring the heat resistance of materials over a temperature range extending from -150°C to +500°C, in addition to a reference thermal conductivity measurement test bench covering the 0°-60°C range. In addition, LNE makes the connection test pieces available for purchase.
Proposed services
Among the tests carried out in this area, we're able to propose :
- Heat resistance measurement of building insulating materials (0° - 60°C),
- Heat resistance measurement of insulating materials for industrial installations (-150°C to +500°C),
- Supply of reference specimens for thermal conductivity over the 0° to 60°C temperature range.
Resources available
To satisfy these testing needs, LNE Laboratory features the following set of instruments :
| Instrumentation | Measurements conducted | Settings |
|---|---|---|
| Guarded hot plate for building insulating materials | Heat resistance measurement for an average temperature lying between 0° and 60°C | R (m2K/W), l (W/mK) |
| Guarded hot plate for industrial installation insulating materials | Thermal conductivity measurement for a temperature varying from -150°C to +500°C | R (m2K/W), l (W/mK) |
| Fluxmeters | Thermal conductivity measurement for an average temperature of 10°C | R (m2K/W), l (W/mK) |
Applicable benchmarks (Testing standards)
- EN 12667: Heat resistance determination by means of the guarded hot plate method and flux meter method, for products of both high and medium thermal resistance,
- EN 12939: Heat resistance determination by means of the guarded hot plate method and flux meter method, for thick products of both high and medium thermal,
- ISO 8301: Determination of both the heat resistance and ancillary properties in the steady state - use of the flux meter method,
- ISO 8302: Determination of both the heat resistance and ancillary properties in the steady state - use of the guarded hot plate method.
