Calibration operations provide you with a certificate demonstrating the traceability of your standards with respect to the international system of units. The LNE National Metrology Laboratory safeguards the preservation, development and improvement of France's mass unit as well as its transfer to industry.
Proposed calibration services
- Ubbelohde viscometers at a temperature ranging from 20° to 70°C
- Ubbelohde viscometers at a temperature above 70°C and up to 150°C
- Ubbelohde viscometers at a temperature below 20°C and down to -40°C
- Cannon-Fenske viscometers at a temperature ranging from 20° to 70°C
- Cannon-Fenske viscometers at a temperature above 70°C and up to 150°C
- Cannon-Fenske viscometers at a temperature below 20°C and down to -40°C.
The calibration uncertainty depends on the actual viscosity range:
- 0.001 to 0.05 mm2.s-2: 0.5%
- 0.05 to 5 mm2.s-2: 0.9%
- 5 to 100 mm2.s-2: 1.2%

Additional services
All viscometers must be delivered in a perfectly clean condition. Should cleaning prove to be necessary, a supplement will be added to the invoice.
LNE is capable of overseeing a bilateral comparison with an accredited metrology laboratory in the aim of validating a given method.
