From 1 January 2022, Maguelonne Chambon, LNE's R&D Director, will become the new Chair of the EMPIR Committee (European Metrology Programme for Innovation and Research), and one of the two Vice-Chairs of EURAMET.
As Chair of the Committee, Maguelonne Chambon will have to deal with various topics during her mandate, including the finalisation of the current EMPIR programme and especially the implementation of the EPM programme, European Partnership on Metrology, which officially started on 1 December 2021. One of the major objectives will be to work with the members of the Committee on the new needs and challenges of stakeholders, with a focus on regulation, the ecological transition, health and the digital transformation in metrology. The EPM programme should move towards a more "integrated" European metrology.
The European Metrology Research Programmes (EMPIR & EPM) enable European metrology institutes (such as LNE) to collaborate on a wide variety of joint research projects with industrial, medical and academic organisations in specific fields (industry, energy, environment, health, international system of units, etc).
