For all your torquemeter calibration needs, LNE possesses a reference test bench encompassing a broad measurement range and offering among the lowest uncertainty levels. The calibration of your torquemeter provides you with a certificate demonstrating the traceability of your instrument with respect to national standards. As France's designated National Metrology Laboratory, LNE safeguards the preservation, development and improvement of the nation's force unit as well as its transfer to industry.

Proposed calibration services

This calibration procedure is performed by applying standard static torques to the test instruments. LNE is equipped with many mechanical adaptations to ensure perfect assembly of your sensor on our reference test benches.

Two calibration procedures are available; each of them contains 8 to 12 points covering from 10% to 100% of the entire instrument measurement range.

Calibration as a comprehensive procedure

  • Range: between 0.1 N.m and 2 kN.m
  • Use: Connection of the torquemeters operated at metrology or testing laboratories accredited by COFRAC and for companies' reference or working standards

Calibration according to a simplified procedure

  • Range: Between 0.1 N.m and 200 kN.m
  • Use: Connection of torquemeters in operation for the verification of dynamometric wrenches and for torquemeters operating at up to 200 kN.m

Accreditation details

Services backed by COFRAC Accreditation No. 2-04.

Additional services

Measurements are normally read on a single indicator device. Procedures may be modified to accommodate clients' needs through extra steps that primarily entail:

  • an increased number of points,
  • simultaneous recording on several indicators or several gauge bridges,
  • additional calibrations on a given device (with, for example, a change in range or mechanical assembly).
