Evaluating the performance of algorithms and systems incorporating artificial intelligence and certifying the design or development processes makes it possible to meet quality and compliance requirements, and thereby the trust needs of both professionals and the general public.
With over 15 years of experience in evaluating artificial intelligence systems and as a recognized certification body, LNE is the only organization in France offering testing and certification services to ensure the reliability, safety, and effectiveness of AI systems.
To address the trust challenges in the field of artificial intelligence, especially the need for reliability and compliance of AI systems, the LNE evaluates algorithms and systems incorporating AI within its Artificial Intelligence Evaluation Laboratory (LE.IA). Comprising several testing platforms, this laboratory allows the characterization of AI reliability, the securing of its use, the improvement of its performance, and the assurance of its ethical nature.
In addition to this evaluation, the LNE can also test all the technical characteristics of your product through qualification tests (EMC, vibrations, climatic, etc.).
The industry increasingly relies on machine learning or statistical learning, also known as Deep Learning, to process large volumes of data or complex tasks. To meet the needs of industry, the LNE develops and uses deep learning methods based on state-of-the-art architectures.
Given the growing number of artificial intelligence solutions and to meet the needs for reliability and compliance in this field, LNE has created a specific certification. It provides users with objective selection criteria and allows developers to demonstrate that they master all stages of the AI lifecycle and meet the performance, regulatory, and ethical requirements of their clients.
>> Certification of processes for AI
The international standard ISO 42001 provides a robust framework and structure within which AI systems can be developed, deployed, and used responsibly. It sets out the requirements and recommendations for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving an AI management system within an organization. This certification can be reinforced by the AI certification developed by LNE, which specifically addresses AI processes and thus offers a comprehensive framework in line with the AI Act.
LNE, as an independent trusted party, organizes challenges using rigorous methods, objective and quantitative comparison metrics, and, where applicable, qualified data sets (representativeness, quality, etc.). The developed protocols ensure the repeatability of performance measurements and the reproducibility of experiments.
>> Organisation of challenges (in french)
The research leaded by LNE explores all facets of AI adoption, leveraging its expertise as an evaluator and its metrological expertise. The laboratory directs its research efforts on strategic themes: performance, security, cybersecurity, ethics, and compliance. The work explores and combines software aspects (AI), physical devices (robots, sensors), and data.
