"Incorporation of Recycled Plastic Materials" Certification

In order to meet the principles of the circular economy – as set out in the AGEC law of 10 February 2020 (the Waste Prevention and Circular Economy Act), which aims to increase the use of recycled plastic materials – LNE, in partnership with the Industrial Technical Centre for Plastics and Composites (IPC), offers a certification.Certification “Incorporation of Recycled Plastic Materials”

Certification “Incorporation of Recycled Plastic Materials”

To attest to a commitment to incorporating recycled plastic materials – a critical requirement for all stakeholders in the sector at both European and national levels – LNE offers the “Incorporation of Recycled Plastic Materials” certification, based on a framework developed in partnership with the Industrial Technical Centre for Plastics and Composites (IPC).

The “Incorporation of Recycled Plastic Materials” certification framework is structured into a general section and four sections that address either general or sector-specific requirements.

Sections 1 and 2 apply independently according to your objectives:

  • Section 1: Certify your process for incorporating recycled plastic materials in a site’s production, whereby the declared tonnage of recycled plastic materials incorporated in the site’s annual production is verified; and/or

And/or

  • Section 2: Certify your product ranges that incorporate a percentage of recycled plastic materials, in order to monitor the specific quantities of recycled plastic materials contained in a product or range of products.

Sections 3 and 4 are carried out in conjunction with Section 2 on request, to meet additional requirements from eco-organisations:

  • Section 3 – Certification of Packaging Product Ranges Incorporating a Percentage of Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic Materials – Specific characteristics for Household Packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
  • Section 4 – Certification of Product Ranges Incorporating a Percentage of Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic Materials – Specific characteristics as defined by the Committee on Plasticulture and Agroenvironnement.

Certification of the Process for Incorporating Recycled Plastic Materials at a Production Site – Section 1

Who is eligible for this certification?

picto fleche

Processors of plastic materials and composite producers who use recycled plastic materials derived from both pre-consumer and post-consumer waste.

What characteristics are certified?

picto fleche

The certified characteristic is :

  • the process of incorporating recycled plastic materials at a production site during the previous calendar year, by material family.

Through the evaluation of this process, it is possible to document:

  • The tonnage of recycled plastic materials incorporated in the site’s annual production.
  • The breakdown of the tonnage by market, material family and origin.

Products containing recycled plastic materials manufactured by:

  • Processors of plastic materials and composite producers using recycled plastic materials derived from pre-consumer and post-consumer waste; and
  • Assembly and thermoforming companies that manufacture products containing recycled plastic materials from components supplied by the above processors and producers.

What characteristics are certified?
