The International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) has appointed Vincent Delatour, Director of Bioanalysis Research at LNE, to its Scientific Division. IFCC logo
The IFCC is a major international organisation in the field of medical biology: its main mission is to promote the reliability and comparability of medical biology examinations, in particular through the development of reference measurement systems and the production of reference materials for priority biomarkers, in accordance with the relevant standards. To this end, the IFCC aims to identify scientific and technological challenges in current practice and to propose solutions, in particular through the development and transfer of technical innovations, as well as through the implementation of diagnostic strategies. The IFCC is also responsible for establishing standards and recommendations to promote good laboratory practice.
The IFCC Scientific Division, to which Vincent Delatour has just been appointed, currently coordinates the activities of 7 committees and 17 working groups. It is composed of key opinion leaders who are extremely influential in the field.
Vincent Delatour has been involved in the IFCC for many years, coordinating the work on the standardisation of procalcitonin assays. He also participates in the IFCC committee on biomarkers of bone metabolism and in the working groups on commutability, cerebrospinal fluid proteins and the standardisation of apolipoproteins
