Climatic tests

Climatic tests make it possible to test the robustness and proper functioning of any product in harsh environments, with variations in temperature and humidity, or pressure. They are part of the range of services for simulating environmental stresses such as mechanical, climatic or electromagnetic compatibility.

Why perform climatic testing?

Climatic testing is used to evaluate the resistance and reliability of a product when exposed to extreme environmental conditions, particularly temperature and humidity variations.

Such tests play a crucial role in qualification programmes by revealing various failure modes, such as mechanical deformation of components, deterioration of electronic parts, or changes in physical properties (cracks, hardening, etc.).

Climatic tests can be combined with other aggravating factors such as humidity, pressure, etc., to observe phenomena like corrosion, oxidation, or degradation of thermal insulation.

These tests are essential to anticipate the real-life behaviour of equipment under sometimes extreme conditions and to ensure compliance, safety, and durability.

Available services

We offer a wide range of characterisation services, including:

  • Testing under extreme conditions: cold, heat, humidity, vacuum, overpressure
  • Rapid temperature variation tests
  • Thermal shock tests
  • Altitude tests: pressure and temperature/humidity control
  • Sunlight exposure tests
  • Salt spray tests
  • Ice tests (on drones, aircraft doors, etc.)

These tests can be combined with vibration testing and may be instrumented and monitored continuously.

Functional performance checks can be carried out before and after the environmental tests.

Facilities

To carry out these tests, we are equipped with the following facilities:
